Why Should I Learn to Kickbox?
Kickboxing is one heck of a workout. Especially in a class environment, for one hour I am moving, twisting, engaging, defending, and striking. This is an intensive exercise between you and the bag or partner. The class setting keeps you accountable from the moment you step through those doors, gym doors. Depending on the class, you might be practicing your striking abilities or defensive prowess while working up a sweat. As you practice and come to class one day, two days, a week, months, your proficiency to move and defend pays dividends. It feels good to know that you are training to become stronger and possibility safer with the ability to move, defend, and if need be, execute an attack.
On other days, you may opt to join a bag class or HIIT class. This is a high intensity interval training. And this session will pair you with a bag to strike and leaving you questioning your own capabilities as you battle out the next number of jump squats, crunches, and burpees.
Kickboxing is a great way to increase one’s physical fitness, mental well-being, and self-confidence. It is a full-body workout that can enhance your agility, coordination, and self-defense skills and even flexibility. Kickboxing can be a great outlet for stress, and it teaches focus and discipline. Cardio kickboxing not only helps increase strength but can also supplement weight loss. Other benefits include networking and creating social connections by participating and training with and as a class.
Kickboxing offers a wide range of physical, mental, and social benefits, and can be a rewarding experience or endeavor.
